Benedicta Pollock shares her turbulent but triumphant life. Orphaned at an early age, she was forced to sell foods door to door to enable her and her poor, elderly stepmom to survive from day to day. She describes what it is like to grow up as the poorest of the poor in a Nigerian village. Her life went from poverty to misery when she went into service of an angry and abusive man as a nanny/maid/servant. She was frequently beaten and became more and more miserable and angry during her four terrible years of servitude.
Later, she struck out on her own, moving to the huge city of Lagos. There, she met with both prosperity and poverty and ultimately came to the very doors of death, where she was given a glimpse of heaven and a commission to share her story around the world. She had no idea how this could ever happen–until an American evangelist came to her city to preach and got more than he bargained for. The rest, as they say is history, and it is related in this true story of the amazing grace of God that saves, heals, and restores.
