The Call of the Wild is a short adventure novel written by Jack London. Set in Yukon during the 1890s Klondike Gold Rush, we get to know it's central character, a dog called Buck. The story opens when Buck is stolen from his home in California and sold into service as a sled dog in Alaska. He becomes increasingly wild in a severe environment, where he has to fight to survive, though a budding friendship between Buck and the outdoorsman John Thornton might change things for the better…
